About Mynort

An independent publication about the network quietly running your house.

What Mynort is

Mynort writes about home networking, Wi-Fi, routers, and the growing pile of connected devices most households now own, without really thinking of themselves as "network administrators." We cover the practical questions people actually run into — why a corner of the house has no signal, whether a router needs replacing, what a smart camera does with its footage — in plain language, aimed at someone setting things up themselves rather than a network engineer.

What Mynort is not

Mynort does not sell routers, mesh systems, or smart home devices, and we do not host firmware downloads. We don't provide remote technical support or in-home installation services, and we're not a manufacturer's support line for any brand mentioned in our articles. If you need direct help configuring a specific device, that manufacturer's own support channel is the right place to go — our aim is to help you understand the landscape well enough to make your own decisions and troubleshoot the basics yourself.

Our editorial approach

A lot of networking content online is written to rank for a product name rather than to actually explain anything, which tends to produce pages long on superlatives and short on how something works. We try to do the opposite: explain the mechanism first, and let readers draw their own conclusions about what matters for their specific home rather than being handed a "best pick" with no reasoning behind it.

Independence and affiliation

Mynort is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Netgear, TP-Link, Asus, Eero, Amazon, Linksys, Google, Ubiquiti, Synology, or any other hardware manufacturer mentioned on this site, unless a specific article states otherwise. Product names, logos, and trademarks referenced in our articles belong to their respective owners and are used solely for identification and educational comparison.

How we handle facts

Where an article describes a specific product category's features, we describe generally documented, publicly available characteristics rather than inventing details, and note explicitly where something varies by model or changes over time. See our full approach in the Editorial Policy.

A note on what we don't claim

You won't find an invented founding date, staff headcount, physical office, award, or certification on this page — we'd rather leave those details out than manufacture them. What you will find is a consistent editorial approach across every article, and a willingness to fix what we get wrong; see our Corrections Policy.
