Editorial Policy

Last updated: January 2026

How topics are selected

We choose topics based on the questions people actually run into with home networks — both lasting explainers (how Wi-Fi encryption works) and practically-driven pieces (whether a specific room's dead zone calls for mesh or just moving the router). Topic selection is an editorial decision, not influenced by advertisers or any hardware manufacturer.

How factual claims are checked

Where an article makes a specific factual claim, particularly about how a technology or product category works, we aim to reflect generally accepted, publicly documented understanding rather than speculation, and note explicitly where a detail varies by model, brand, or region.

How product information is handled

When articles reference specific commercial products or brands, such as in our router comparison guide, the goal is to describe generally understood, publicly available characteristics for educational comparison — not to test, rank, or promote any product. We do not claim first-hand testing unless it genuinely occurred, and avoid unsupported superlatives like "the best" without clearly attributed evidence.

Editorial content vs. advertising

Mynort's layout is built with space reserved for future advertising, clearly separated from article content and visually distinguished. Advertising, if and when implemented, will never be designed to resemble navigation, security warnings, download buttons, or editorial content. See our Advertising Disclosure.

Corrections

When we learn that something we've published is inaccurate or out of date, we correct it and note the update date on the article. See our full Corrections Policy.

Content updates

Networking standards and hardware change over time. We periodically review articles, particularly ones referencing specific product features or standards, and update them as needed, with the "Updated" date reflecting the most recent substantive revision.

Conflicts of interest

Mynort does not accept payment from hardware manufacturers in exchange for favorable coverage, and does not currently run affiliate links on this site. Should our advertising or business model change in the future, this policy and our Advertising Disclosure will be updated accordingly.

Editorial independence: Mynort is an independent publication about home networking, Wi-Fi, and connected devices. We do not sell routers or smart-home hardware, provide firmware downloads, offer technical support, or represent any manufacturer. Product names, logos, and trademarks mentioned on this site belong to their respective owners and are referenced solely for educational and comparative purposes. See our Editorial Policy and Advertising Disclosure for details.
